ATKINS POLO ACADEMY offers dedicated polo coaching from qualified HPA instructors. Bringing people of all ages the chance to enjoy a new sport and take to the saddle, or for existing players to develop their competitive game. Promoting an effective and refined HPA inspired learning method, Atkins Polo introduces a fun, skilful, friendly aspect of the game, demonstrating a cost effective “stepping-stone” to club polo. Tuition is available in variety of forms; private, group, intro to polo, day clinics, weekend clinics and instructional chukkas. Day and weekend clinics offer more than just polo; accommodation, an abundance of good food and entertainment. The facilities at Atkins Polo enable efficient instruction at its best; polo fields, numerous polo ponies and all the equipment needed. Clark Betz, head coach, is one of the club coaches for the local West Wycombe Park Polo Club and we also use their beautiful grounds and arenas for chukkas and tournaments. 2011 saw plenty of enjoyable summer polo tournaments; APA Polo Day, Quatros Amigos and the Adrenaline & Atkins World Open, to name a few. We are thankful to have players from many different nations such as China, Nigeria, Madagascar, Holland, Sweden, Italy, France, Malaysia, United States, Poland, Hungary, and love how we have had the opportunity to host international tournaments, further enhancing the friendly Atkins community. Lessons include: Stick and Ball instruction; Wooden horse and hand stick exercises; Riding Exercises; Major Hugh Dawnay's Method/ 'Playmaker Polo' Tactics with emphasis on Rules and Safety; Instructional chukkas both indoor and outdoor; HPA “Improving your Polo” DVD and Umpires Review DVD. Structured training programmes set up and tailored with each individual to reach the goals you want to achieve. We teach schools and universities and also host hen/ stag parties, birthdays and corporate events. Not only do we focus on the polo tuition and events but also entertaining our clients after lessons/ chukkas with summer BBQs, country pub lunches and evening entertainment. Atkins Farm is conveniently located just North West of London and is easily accessible via car or a short 30 minute train journey from London Marlybone. In 2012 we will also be based at the full sized ‘Paradise’ Polo Field in Marlow for plenty of chukkas catering for all levels of play.
